Buying a CRM in the agent era
The traditional CRM comparison — pipeline features, seat price, integrations — still matters, but an agent-era buyer also has to ask whether an AI agent can actually read and act on the data through an MCP server.

CRM comparisons used to stop at pipeline features, seat pricing, and integrations. That’s still the baseline, but there’s a newer question worth asking alongside it: can an AI agent actually read and write to this CRM on its own, through a real MCP server, rather than through a human clicking through a UI? The six CRMs Crail tracks split noticeably on that axis, and it doesn’t always track with brand size or price.
What to actually compare
MCP server availability. Attio, HubSpot CRM, Close, and Salesforce Sales Cloud all have an MCP server. Attio’s is hosted at a public endpoint (mcp.attio.com) and Salesforce’s has a public GitHub repo; HubSpot’s and Close’s MCP servers exist but aren’t linked to a public repo in Crail’s data. Pipedrive and Zoho CRM don’t have one yet.
Agent-readiness doesn’t track with company size. Attio leads the category at 91 — notable since it’s the API-first, fully customizable CRM with real-time data sync and custom objects, built with agent access as a first-class concern. HubSpot CRM and Close are tied at 79. Salesforce Sales Cloud, despite being the market-leading enterprise platform, scores 57 — behind Pipedrive (60) — reflecting that its MCP support doesn’t fully offset requiring a sales call to buy even its entry tier.
Buying friction. Attio, HubSpot CRM, Close, Pipedrive, and Zoho CRM are all self-serve with no sales call required to buy, ranging from $9/year (Close) to $35/year (Attio). Salesforce Sales Cloud is the outlier: it has a free tier for small businesses but requires a sales call to buy its Agentforce 1 Sales tier, starting at $25/month.
Compliance depth. Salesforce Sales Cloud carries by far the heaviest compliance stack (SOC 1/2/3, ISO 27001/27017/22301, HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR, FedRAMP Moderate and High) — expected for a platform selling into large regulated enterprises. Zoho CRM also carries a broad set including HIPAA and PCI DSS. Attio and Close both carry a lighter but real baseline (SOC 2 Type II and GDPR, with Close adding CCPA).

FAQ
Which CRMs have an official MCP server today?
Attio, HubSpot CRM, Close, and Salesforce Sales Cloud all have an MCP server, with Attio and Salesforce publishing a public repo/endpoint. Pipedrive and Zoho CRM do not yet have one, which matters if you plan to have an agent query or update CRM data directly rather than through a human-driven UI.
Does agent-readiness track with price or brand size?
Not neatly — Attio, the API-first CRM built around real-time sync and custom objects, has the highest agent-readiness score (91) in Crail's data, ahead of much larger platforms like Salesforce Sales Cloud (57), which requires a sales call to buy despite having a free tier.
